Grieving The Beauty of Sundown

The painting focuses especially on the feeling of loneliness and on the patterns that light creates when it is filtered through trees. I wanted to give this painting a vibrant feel through its coloration and my use of large brushstrokes despite the gravity of the emotion I am conveying. Further, it's verticality give it a sense of confusion, but also interest, that I was intrigued by. I constructed the canvas for this myself.
